Carpenter Builds $1.1 Million Nest Egg with Missouri Lotto Prize

Story Photo audio icon A carpenter from Union is constructing more than buildings these days.  After matching all six numbers drawn in the Missouri Lotto’s drawing on May 21, Chad Burkholder is also making millions. His Quick Pick ticket, which he purchased at U-Gas, 3628 W. Osage St. in Pacific, won him the $1.1 million jackpot.

The father-of-three said both he and his wife were “in shock” after learning they were holding the winning Lotto ticket.

The couple, who plan to pay off their home and add to their savings, will “still work,” but he added that the prize will make life “a little more comfortable.”

As for his overall Lottery-winning experience, the elated 36-year-old said a few words to describe how he is feeling, “excited, happy (and) numb.”

For selling the winning the $1.1 million Lotto prize, U-Gas received $11,000, which is equal to 1 percent of the advertised jackpot.

Lotto is a twice-weekly Draw Game with jackpots that start at $1 million and grow until someone wins. The winning numbers from the May 21 drawing were:  3, 4, 10, 12, 32 and 33. Burkholder is the 319th Missouri Lottery-made millionaire and the 204th Missouri Lotto jackpot winner.
