Union Man Claims $250,000 Lottery Prize

A Union man has become the second player to claim a $250,000 top prize from the “Missouri Lottery’s Silver Anniversary” Scratchers game. Dennis Kleekamp, 59, purchased the winning ticket at Heartland Discount Pharmacy, 707 Highway 50 West, in Union.

Kleekamp said he would buy hearing aids and put the rest of the windfall in the bank.

Missouri Lottery’s Silver Anniversary” is a $10 game that officially began Jan. 11. In addition to winning up to $250,000 instantly, non-winning “Silver Anniversary” tickets are eligible for entry into the “Silver Anniversary” second-chance promotion. In a drawing each month during the Lottery’s anniversary year, 25 winners will be selected to win $1,000. Each of those monthly winners will advance to a grand-prize drawing for $1 million.
