ST. PETERS WOMAN WINS $30,000 INSTANTLY

A St. Peters woman scratched off a $30,000 prize Saturday in the Missouri Lottery’s "High Card" Scratchers game. Shirley Lynn, 64, said she stopped in Hucks Food Store, 2875 St. Peters and Howell in St. Peters Saturday morning to buy a newspaper and some coffee. Since she had a $2 winning Scratchers ticket to redeem, she decided to buy two "High Card" tickets. The first one turned out to be worth $30,000 and the second one was a $4 winner. Lynn, an executive assistant for an engineering firm in Chesterfield, said she plans to use the money for her upcoming retirement. She also may take a trip. The Missouri Lottery’s "High Card" game officially went on sale Aug. 1.
