Piedmont Woman Wins $8,891 Playing Club Keno

It was an unexpected blessing that befell the crowd of regulars at Larry’s in Piedmont on March 26. When Leisa Whitaker won an $8,891 jackpot on a Missouri Lottery Club Keno ticket, she remembered her friends.
“I bought the house a round,” laughed Whitaker. “It’s a small town.”
This, of course, was after she confirmed that her 7-Spot ticket was the indeed a winner.
“I know I was in shock when I checked it,” recalled Whitaker. “I didn’t even have my glasses on. I saw the dollar sign. I had to have the bartender check it to make sure I wasn’t crazy.”
The windfall came at the right time for the 51-year-old and the beneficiaries at Larry’s, 111 S. Main St., in Piedmont.
“I’m going to buy a car and bring my bank account up to the good. I’ll be even!” exclaimed Whitaker.
This is the first big prize for Whitaker, who noted previous wins of $200. She said she’ll continue to play the game that endeared her to a handful of fans at Larry’s.
“I enjoy playing Keno,” she explained. “I can get my 10 games, and watch or not watch, and it still plays.”
Club Keno is a Draw Game with drawings every four minutes. Players can choose how many numbers to play, also called “spots,” and win prizes based on play options.
