Camdenton Pick 4 Player Picks Up $3,000 Prize

According to Derrick Thomas, it was “just a feeling” that led him to deviate from his normal Missouri Lottery Pick 4 routine on March 19. The Camdenton construction worker credits mixing up his play action with landing a $3,000 prize during the Evening Pick 4 drawing.

“I just had a funny feeling in my stomach,” he explained, first about his random number selection of 6-6-9-9, and then his chosen play type.  “I played the numbers straight when I normally do box. I don’t know why.”

The straight play type rewards players for matching the numbers drawn in exact order, paying out a higher prize than the box play type, which allows players to win lesser amounts for matching numbers regardless of the order the numbers were drawn.

Thomas, who purchased his winning ticket at Quietside Quik Shop, 601 State Road AA in Roach, said he already knows how to best put his winnings to good use.

“I have a 7-year-old boy, so I’d like to do something for him,” he said.

Missouri Lottery Pick 4 players can win from $30 to $6,000 on a $1 play by matching a wide variety of numbers and combinations.  Drawings are held at 12:45 p.m. and 8:59 p.m. daily.
