Lottery Prize Sends Springfield Couple on Luxury Cruise
What started out as dreaming about taking a vacation to the Bahamas ended with a Springfield couple applying for passports, thanks to a “Missouri Lottery’s 25th Anniversary Cruise” Scratchers ticket.
“My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in June, and we were looking online at some cruises,” said Deborah Paff. “My husband came home with this ticket, and he said, ‘Here, just scratch that and see what happens.’”
After uncovering an instant cruise prize, Paff was left with one question for her husband, “Are you sure this isn’t a joke?”
Upon confirming the win at Signal Food Store, 960 S. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield, Paff said she and her husband were “in shock.”
“We’ve never had this kind of luck before!” she exclaimed.
Paff added that it’s “been a tough five years” for the couple that decided it was time to “do something special” after both surviving heart attacks.
“Having this granted for us knowing what we’ve been suffering for years, it sends goose bumps down my spine,” Paff shared. “What a way to celebrate our 25th anniversary!”
