$50,688 Club Keno Prize Turns Toronto Trip into a Reality
Kriss Gabel of St. Charles has always dreamed of visiting the NHL Hall of Fame in Toronto. After scanning his Missouri Lottery Club Keno ticket from a Feb. 27 drawing, the 41-year-old realized that he could start packing his bags.
“I was at work getting ready for business,” Gabel began, noting that he’s a cook and bartender at Redbirds Sports Café and Billiards, 9085 Dunn Road., in Hazelwood. “I ran the ticket and walked away to do a few other things.”
When he finally collected his Quick Pick Club Keno ticket, he saw something shocking.
“It said I won $50,688!” Gabel exclaimed. “I thought it had to be wrong, so I ran it again.”
In a state of disbelief, he called his boss to let him know what had happened.
“He checked the website (Molottery.com), and said that my numbers matched the winning numbers,” he recalled. “As soon as I found out it was real, my heart starting beating fast.”
It was a long shift for Gabel, who noted that he couldn’t wait to claim his prize at a Lottery office.
“First and foremost, I’m going to pay off my car and credit cards,” he said. “Once I have a firm number of what I have left, I can start planning my extracurricular things.”
When asked what he had in mind, the avid hockey fan explained how he has always wanted to see the NHL Hall of Fame, and thanks to his recent Missouri Lottery Club Keno win, he can make that dream a reality.
