Kansas City Family is Going To Disney World with $10,000 Lottery Prize
A Kansas City man is using a $10,000 Missouri Lottery prize to take his family on a long-awaited trip to Disney World. Thirty-two-year-old Brian Arnold said his wife, Rebecca, and their two children have been talking about taking a Florida vacation for years, but they hadn’t been able to make the dream a reality until now.
It was during a stop for gasoline at QuikTrip, 528 N.W. Englewood Road in Kansas City, that the couple realized they could finally start packing their bags.
While sitting in the parking lot, Arnold scratched off a “Power 7s” Scratchers ticket he bought in the store. The first-time Lottery winner told his wife, “Look, you have to drive, because I am shaking!”
Arnold returned to the store to confirm the win with a clerk.
“I asked the guy real quietly if he could make sure I wasn’t dreaming,” he recalled. “He checked it, and he said, ‘Yes, this is real.’”
As for plans for the windfall, Arnold will use the prize money for the family’s first vacation to Disney World.
“We really didn’t know how we were going to come up with the money,” he said. “We won this on Saturday, and we now know!”
," a $5 game with a top prize of $77,000, officially began on Dec. 4, 2010.
