TIME RUNNING OUT ON $100,000 PRIZE SOLD IN ST. LOUIS

Time is almost up for the owner of a Missouri Powerball ticket sold in Chesterfield worth $100,000. The prize will expire at midnight on Monday - exactly one year from the night the winning numbers were drawn. The ticket was sold at Dierbergs - 4 Season, 8 Four Seasons Center in Chesterfield. The winning numbers for the Aug. 21, 1999, drawing were: 2, 17, 28, 42 and 45. "A player who thinks he or she might have found the winning ticket should take it to the Missouri Lottery’s St. Louis office, located in Westport, by 5 p.m. on Monday," said Gary Gonder, director of communications for the Missouri Lottery. "If you find it after 5 p.m. on Monday, take the ticket to any on-line lottery retailer by midnight Monday night and request that your ticket be cashed through the terminal. "This process will produce a claim ticket that states what the prize is worth, and it will provide the winner with a computerized record of an attempt to claim the prize. Then the winner should bring both the claim ticket and the Powerball ticket to the St. Louis Lottery office first thing on Tuesday." Unclaimed lottery prizes go to Missouri’s public education fund.
