One Location, Two Winning Tickets: Father and Son Win $10,000 and $20,000

Story Photo Three years ago, Nicholas Moorer of Warsaw congratulated his son after he won a $20,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.  On Jan 28, the roles were reversed as Moorer’s son congratulated his father after he uncovered a prize of his own - $10,000 on a “Mega MONOPOLY™” Scratchers ticket.  Not only did father and son each win Scratchers prizes, but they purchased the winning tickets at the same store – Everyday Conoco, 101 N. 2nd St., in Clinton.

“I couldn’t believe it!” exclaimed Moorer, referring to the moment he uncovered the $10,000 prize.

The retired Air Force ground equipment technician said he “always had hope” that he’d win, but he was “in shock” when the day finally came.

“I thought it was a blessing,” he shared.  “He (son) won a few years back, and now here I am winning $10,000.  It’s an amazing feeling.”

When asked about plans for the windfall, Moorer, 69, said he will “pay bills and enjoy it.”

Mega MONOPOLY™," a $10 game with a top prize of $2 million, officially began on Aug. 29, 2008.
