To highlight the student achievement required to participate in Missouri’s A+ Program – for which the Missouri Lottery currently provides 97 percent of the funding – the Lottery is bringing back a special prize drawing exclusively for A+ students.

During the “Tools 4 School:  The A+ Giveaway” promotion, one grand-prize winner will win $2,500, three first-prize winners will receive $1,000, and three second-prize winners will win $400 in prize money to put toward books, a laptop or other school essentials.

From Nov. 1- 30, students who are using or have used A+ funds to attend a post-secondary institution are invited to enter the promotion at Molottery.com.  To enter, students should complete the online entry form in full, share how they benefited from the A+ program and attach a photo.

Some of the entries will be used on the Lottery’s website to illustrate the positive effects Missouri’s A+ Schools Program continues to have on our students and communities.

“A+ students work hard in order to be eligible for this program,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery.  “They have to meet attendance and grade requirements, and they also provide many hours of valuable mentoring services back in their own communities.  The ‘Tools 4 School’ promotion is our way of recognizing these students for all the effort they put into realizing their dreams of a college education.”

Full details and rules for the “Tools 4 School:  The A+ Giveaway” promotion can be found at Molottery.com.

Missouri’s A+ Schools Program has helped 50,200 students attend community college or a career or technical school since 1997.  To date, 311 public high schools across the state have been designated as A+ Schools by the State Board of Education.  For more about Missouri’s A+ Schools Program, administered by the Missouri Department of Higher Education, visit www.dhe.mo.gov.
