Chicago Woman Wins $25,000 Keno Prize
A Chicago woman traveling through Missouri bought a Missouri Lottery Keno To Go ticket and reaped a $25,000 prize. Bobbie Harper, 63, was moving items from her mother’s house in Arkansas and decided to stop for a break at Reeves Boomland, 100 Beasley Park Road in Charleston, on Sept. 23.
“So as I was passing through, I decided to stop to stretch my legs and get gas and food. Oh yeah, and do some shopping,” Harper added.
“So in the meantime, while I was doing that, I decided to buy the ticket.”
Harper chose her own numbers: a combination of numbers she saw at her mother’s house, the weight of gold and numbered highways. Her 10-spot ticket matched nine numbers and the Bulls-Eye to win $25,000. She discovered the win three days later while checking the ticket on the Internet.
The 63-year-old city of Chicago employee made a special trip to St. Louis on Oct. 21 to claim her prize. Harper said she would use the money to pay bills.
“It’s good during this economic downfall to pay my bills off,” she explained.
