Vacation in the Works for Soon-To-Be Newlyweds

Story Photo A Linn Creek bride-to-be has a $20,000 head start on her "big day."  Peggy Henthorn, 43, uncovered the prize on a Missouri Lottery "$200,000 A Year For Life" Scratchers ticket.

"I didn’t sleep much," she said, referring to the night she bought the winning ticket at Joe’s Market, Highway 63, in Westphalia.  "I kept getting up and checking the drawer every few minutes."

The mother of three and grandmother of four plans to use the prize money to "take a mini-vacation" with her fiancé.

"I’ve never won anything like this, so it’s still sinking in," she added.  "It’s amazing!"

"$200,000 A Year For Life" offers a top prize of $200,000 a year for life and a second prize of $50,000 a year for life.  The game officially started on Aug. 28.
