Imperial Woman's $50,003 Win Fuels 'Happy Dance'
Who says you need music to dance? Not Beverly Hicks of Imperial. She was so thrilled after uncovering a $50,003 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Cash Line Bingo" Scratchers ticket that she broke out her "happy dance." Over laughter, she explained that the dance involved "jumping up and down with your arms straight up and turning around."
The first-time Lottery winner was on her way home from a wedding when she decided to stop at Express Mart-Seckman, 2865 Seckman Road in Imperial, for a few "Cash Line Bingo" Scratchers tickets. After realizing she was holding a winning ticket and performing her impromptu dance routine at her home, she signed the ticket and made two photo copies. Next, she drove to a nearby convenience store to ask a clerk to confirm that she "wasn’t seeing things."
It was a sleepless night for the 67-year-old. Many thoughts raced through her mind like, "Wow, maybe now I can pay off my bills and get a car!"
She also plans to give a portion of the windfall to her daughter and two grandchildren.
"It comes in handy!" she exclaimed.
"Cash Line Bingo
," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,003, officially began on May 22.
