Pilot Grove Woman Makes $10,003 "Bonus" on Break

Story Photo audio icon A Pilot Grove woman became $10,003 richer during an afternoon break on Aug. 4.  Sandra Gibson, 48, starts most of her workdays at the Bobber Café, 2500 Main Street in Boonville, by playing a Missouri Lottery Scratchers game.  Staying true to her habit, she bought a "Cash Line Bingo" Scratchers ticket before her shift began, but she didn’t realize she was a winner until hours later.

"I was just shocked!" she recalled, referring to the moment she checked her ticket.  "I couldn’t believe all of those zeros."

Gibson and co-worker Tracy Breece of Bunceton took the afternoon off to drive to Missouri Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City to claim the prize.

When asked how she planned to spend the prize money, she said she will "pay bills and maybe have a little fun."

She added that she will keep playing Missouri Lottery Scratchers games before her shifts begin and "maybe get another big one."

"Cash Line Bingo," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on May 22.
