Holts Summit Man Wins $6,217 Over Lunch Break

Story Photo audio icon A Holts Summit man took his lunch with a side of cash on Aug. 5.  Rick Wolters, 41, purchased a Missouri Lottery Club Keno ticket at American Legion, 1423 Tanner Bridge Road, in Jefferson City. Expecting to pay his bill and be on his way, he asked the clerk to scan his Quick Pick ticket before returning to work.

"I had the bartender check it (ticket)," he recalled.  "She goes, ’I think you just won $6,217!’"

The Dell computer representative and father of two teenage boys said he immediately called his wife with the news.

As for how the first-time Lottery winner will use the windfall, over laughter, he added that his wife "already informed" him that the prize money would go
towards a family vacation that had been in the works.

"I’m just excited and glad to finally make a trip up here (Missouri Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City) to collect some money," he said.

To play Club Keno, players can choose how many different numbers (also called "spots") they want to play from 1 to 10.  Twenty numbers from a field of 1-80 are chosen in a computerized random Club Keno drawing held every four minutes.
