St. Louis Man Turns $1 Lottery Ticket into $55,000 Prize

It costs $1 to play the Missouri Lottery’s Show Me Cash game and have a chance to win.  Stephen Polk of St. Louis is proof that dreams can come true.  Polk, 55, tried his luck by purchasing a $1 Quick Pick ticket from the July 27 drawing.  He ended up matching all five numbers:  2, 7, 21, 25 and 38, a feat that earned him the $55,000 jackpot.  Polk purchased the winning ticket at QuikTrip, 10793 Page Ave., in St. Louis.

Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing.  Polk was the 103rd Show Me Cash jackpot winner since the game began on Sept. 8, 2008.  To date, more than $13.7 million has been awarded in jackpot prizes.
