PURCELL BARBER SHAVES OFF $25,000 INSTANTLY

A self-employed barber from Purcell was no fool when he uncovered a $25,000 prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Instant MONOPOLY" game on April 1. Leon Erwin, 67, said the clerk at Star Pump N Pantry in Alba and the others gathered around when he purchased and scratched off the prize thought he was "April fooling." Erwin said he plans to use the money to pre-pay his funeral costs so his family won’t have to worry about it when the time comes. Erwin said he treats himself to $5 worth of Scratchers tickets every Saturday evening. The Missouri Lottery’s "Instant MONOPOLY" game ticket went on sale March 18.
