$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In Springfield

Someone in the Springfield area is $1 million richer this morning.  One lucky Missouri Lottery player who bought a Powerball ticket at Price Cutter, 2021 W. Republic Road, in Springfield is holding a winning ticket worth $1 million.  A Powerball ticket sold there for the May 26 drawing matched all five white-ball numbers drawn – 1, 6, 10, 13, and 20 – to win the second-level prize of $200,000.  Because this player also purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1, his or her prize is now worth $1 million!

"Players who bought Powerball tickets for last night’s drawing at this Price Cutter should definitely check those tickets closely," said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery.  “If you’re the one with the lucky winning ticket, please sign the back of it and keep it in a safe place until you can bring it to a Lottery office to claim your prize.”

Powerball winners have exactly 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.  In this case, the winner has until Nov. 22, 2010.

Missouri Lottery offices are located in Springfield, St. Louis, Jefferson City and Kansas City.  Maps to each office can be found on the Lottery’s Web site at Molottery.com.

This marks the sixth time a Missouri Lottery player has turned a “Match 5” prize into a $1 million win using the Power Play option.
