Belton Man Spells Way to $50,000 Lottery Prize

A Belton man is $50,000 richer after uncovering the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. David Kippes, 56, purchased the winning ticket at QuikTrip, 11101 E. 40 Highway, in Independence.

"Crossword," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on Feb. 27.  To date, 10 top prizes as well as thousands of prizes ranging from $3 to $5,000, remain in play.
