Bosworth Woman Calls Husband Home After Show Me Cash Win

Story Photo audio icon A traveling nurse from Bosworth has decided that her husband, a union pipefitter who also travels for jobs, can come home and retire.  That’s the news Charlotte Grossman shared with her husband, Ronnie, after learning that she won $65,000 from the Missouri Lottery.  Grossman’s Quick Pick ticket for the May 5 Show Me Cash drawing matched all five numbers to win the jackpot.
"Guess what?  He’s now officially retired!  I called him last night and told him I won," said Grossman.  "He said, ’Yeah, right.’  I said, ’Come home.’"
Ronnie insisted that he couldn’t come home because his tools were on the job site.
"I said, ’Well then, you go to work in the morning and get your tools and come home.  He did," recounted Grossman.
It’s something the regular Lottery player was expecting.
"I play it religiously, and I have told my husband for the last three months, ’I’m going to win that Show Me Cash one of these days.’  And I did it!"
Grossman bought her ticket at Break Time, N. 902 Highway 65, in Carrollton.   The winning Show Me Cash numbers on May 5 were:  4, 5, 11, 12 and 14.
Grossman was having a lucky day.  She stopped and purchased a "5X The Fortune" Scratchers ticket and won $500.  She was telling her son about her good luck that night when she discovered the real fortune was yet to come.
"Last night at 6:59," began Grossman.  "I was standing there, and I just showed my son my $500 ticket.  I said, ’That ain’t the half of it.  When they draw those Show Me Cash tickets, I’m going to win that, too!’  I looked at the clock, and it was 6:59 p.m.  I said, ’Oh, they’ve already drawn it.’  So I got my ticket out of my purse and went to the computer and sure as the world, it was the winner!"
It’s exciting news for the great-grandparents.  Grossman hasn’t made any plans for the windfall, but she noted that the win would enable Ronnie to retire.  That means the couple will have time to take a vacation, possibly a fishing trip to Alaska.
"I love to fish.  I’d rather fish than eat when I’m hungry, and that’s saying something," said Grossman.
Grossman hopes her lucky streak isn’t over and plans to continue playing the Lottery.
"You can’t win if you don’t play," she said.
Show Me Cash is an online daily Numbers Game with jackpots that start at $50,000.
