IMPERIAL MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

A 79-year-old man from Imperial has $25,000 more for his golden years after matching all five numbers drawn in the April 19 SHOW ME 5 drawing. Milton Meyer said he plans to use some of his tax-paid* winnings to help his daughter pay for corrective eye surgery. Meyer purchased his winning ticket at Citgo, 5209 Warren Road in Imperial. He let the computer generate the combination on his winning ticket. The lucky numbers were: 4, 16, 17, 19 and 23. To date, 854 SHOW ME 5 tickets worth $25,000 tax paid have been sold since the game began in 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
