BELTON WOMAN WINS $100,000 PLAYING POWERBALL

Persistence paid off for a Belton woman when her habit of playing Powerball brought her a $100,000 prize from last Saturday’s drawing. Rose Judy, 32, said she’s been playing at least $1 in Powerball each drawing for the last six years. Judy discovered she won the $100,000 second-level prize after checking her numbers with the numbers on the Missouri Lottery’s Web site, www.molottery.com. The winning numbers were: 15, 26, 28, 40 and 48. Judy had her husband, Les, purchase her $2 winning ticket at Belton Country Market, 171st & Holmes Road in Belton. He let the computer select the winning combination. Judy, who is a licensed practical nurse for a nursing home, said she has no idea what she will do with the windfall besides paying off some bills.
