Fenton Man Wins $8,232 Club Keno Prize
Michael Meyers went to The Bean House to watch the Super Bowl, but it was the Missouri Lottery Club Keno game that provided all the excitement. The Fenton resident purchased some Club Keno tickets while enjoying the NFL Championship game on television, and saw his numbers come up in the second game he played. He wasn’t sure of the winning amount right away, which turned out to be $8,232, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying his evening.
"Man, I was excited. I just couldn’t believe it," recalled Meyers.
Meyers purchased his seven-spot ticket at The Bean House, 1100 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, on Feb. 7. He used a series of birthdates to select his winning combination.
"The numbers I played were my birthday, my wife’s birthday, my son’s birthday and my wife’s age. She just turned 30 yesterday," explained Meyers.
Meyers didn’t know exactly how much he won until he claimed the ticket at the St. Louis regional Lottery office on Feb. 8. A six, seven or eight-spot ticket qualifies for a progressive jackpot prize that is added to the base prize of $5,000.
"It’s awesome," declared Meyers.
According to Meyers, who is a mortgage broker at Commercial Bank, the money might be used to buy some new golf clubs and take a trip to Palm Desert, Calif., for a round of golf, something he’s always wanted to do. He may also buy a few more Club Keno tickets.
"You’ve got to play to win," Meyers said.
