A Sedalia woman uncovered two prizes playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Merry Money" Scratchers game: the first one was a $25 prize that she cashed in to buy five more $5 tickets; and the second was a $10,000 prize. Sherry Smith, 41, purchased her first $5 "Merry Money" ticket on the way to Kansas City Friday to do some shopping. When she returned to Sedalia, she stopped at Break Time, 318 W. Broadway, to redeem the first ticket, which was a $25 winner. She decided to use the money to buy five more "Merry Money" tickets. One of those five turned out to be worth $10,000. Smith said she and her husband, Jerry, plan to keep the money until after Christmas, and then they will decide what to do with it. They also said they were finished shopping for their four children, but now, they may buy a couple more gifts for them. "Merry Money," the Missouri Lottery’s third $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Nov. 4.
