Boonville Woman Bags $25,000 Lottery Win
One Boonville woman’s milk might be spoiled by the time she gets home, but "it’s worth it" according to a first-time Lottery winner. Patricia Jenry and her nephew were grocery shopping at Country Mart, 931 Boone Village Plaza in Boonville, when Jenry decided to purchase a Missouri Lottery "Deuces Wild" Scratchers ticket.
"I scratched off the first one, and it said $500," she began. "I scratched the next one, and it was $1,000. "I said, ’Andy, is this right?’ I was shaking so bad, he finished scratching it."
Jenry’s nephew informed her that the ticket was worth $25,000.
"I cried, and I shook," she recalled. "I still can’t believe it."
With groceries "still in the truck," the pair made their way to the Lottery’s Jefferson City office to claim the prize before the close of business on Jan. 22.
While on the road, Jenry called her sister with the good news, to which she said, ’You go, girl!’"
"I didn’t think I’d ever see the day," she said, when asked about her thoughts on winning the Lottery.
"Deuces Wild," a $2 game with a top prize of $25,000, officially began on Sept. 26, 2009.
