$1 Million Powerball Ticket Claimed in St. Louis

Story Photo A newly formed corporation has claimed a winning Powerball ticket from Jennings.  A ticket from the Jan. 2 Powerball drawing matched all five white-ball numbers to win $200,000, but the player who purchased the ticket added Power Play to multiply that prize into $1 million.  The ticket, sold at Gas Mart, 9301 Lewis and Clark Blvd. in Jennings, was claimed by Trecal Investments, LLC, at the St. Louis regional Missouri Lottery office on Jan. 12.  According to a spokesperson for the corporation, the winning ticket was one of three that were purchased for the drawing, consisting of random numbers selected by the player.  The winning numbers were:  3, 7, 23, 27 and 42.

Gas Mart will reap a $10,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.  After withholding taxes, Trecal Investments will receive $710,000.  This is the fourth winning ticket sold in Missouri to win $1 million using Power Play.

Powerball is a multi-state game with jackpots that start $20 million.  For an extra $1 at the time of purchase, players can select the Power Play option, which multiplies all winnings other than the jackpot by the Power Play number.  The Power Play number on Jan. 2 was three, however, players who match all five white-ball numbers with Power Play automatically increase their prize to $1 million.
