$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In Jennings

Story Photo A Missouri Lottery player who bought a Powerball ticket at Gas Mart, 9301 Lewis and Clark Blvd. in Jennings, will be ushering in 2010 with a $1 million prize.  One ticket sold at this location matched all five white-ball numbers drawn – 3, 7, 23, 27 and 42 – and selected the Power Play option to win an automatic $1 million.

“If you buy Powerball tickets at this location, you should check them closely,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery.  “If you should discover that you have the winning ticket, sign the back of it and keep it in a safe place until you can bring it to a Lottery office.”

Powerball winners have exactly 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.  In this case, the winner has until July 1, 2010.

Missouri Lottery offices are located in St. Louis, Jefferson City, Kansas City and Springfield.  Maps to each office can be found on the Lottery’s Web site at Molottery.com.

Saturday’s winning ticket is the fourth ticket sold in Missouri to match all five white-ball numbers using the Power Play multiplier option to win $1 million.  The first ticket was sold at QuikTrip on Fifth St. in St. Charles on April 29, 2006.  A second $1 million ticket was sold in Pineville on June 16, 2007, and a third ticket was sold at Howdershell BP in Hazelwood on June 11, 2008.

This Lottery ticket is the 289th ticket sold in Missouri worth $1 million or more since Lottery sales started nearly 24 years ago.
