KANSAS CITY MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

A Kansas City man can buy a new computer after winning $25,000 tax paid* in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 drawing on Jan. 27. Ronald "Ron" Gallagher, 36, said he also plans to put some of the money in the bank. Gallagher purchased his winning ticket at Van Brunt Market, 2701 Van Brunt in Kansas City. He let the computer pick the winning combination. The winning numbers are 6, 11, 19, 24 and 28. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
