A Missouri Lottery “10X the Money” Scratchers ticket proved to be right on the money for a pitching instructor from St. Louis.  Jim Greiner, 46, won $20,000 on the ticket he purchased at Dierbergs, 2516 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, on Nov. 18.

“I’ve always wanted to hit on the 10 Times (the Money),” Greiner said.  I always knew I was going to hit on that.  I don’t know why.”

After getting lunch at Dierbergs, he took the ticket back to his business, Greiner Fastpitch, where he gives girls’ fast-pitch lessons.  It was there that he scratched the ticket to reveal its $20,000 prize.

“I immediately started screaming my co-worker’s name because he was the only one there,” he said of the moment he realized what he had won.  “He thought I was having a heart attack.”

Once he was able to convince his co-worker that he was actually holding a winning Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket, Greiner admits to “jumping up and down and pumping my fists” in excitement.

“It’s the most money I’ve ever won,” he explained.  “I’m a happy camper and headed to the bank.”

Greiner said he will “most definitely” use the prize money to pay off some bills.

Remaining prizes for “10X the Money” total more than $4.6 million.  The $5 Scratchers game, which officially began May 2, offers a top prize of $100,000.
