ANDERSON MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

An Anderson man could celebrate the Mardi Gras in style this year after winning $25,000 tax paid* in Saturday night’s SHOW ME 5 drawing. Bruce Lett, 47, said he plans to use the money to take an "extended vacation" to New Orleans and invest the rest of the money "wisely." Lett, who owns Lett’s Truck Sales in Goodman, purchased his winning ticket at C-Mart, Highway 71 South in Goodman. He let the computer pick the winning combination: 1, 5, 12, 24 and 27. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
