Raytown Man Wins $614,509 Show Me Cash Jackpot
A Raytown man stepped forward to claim the largest Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash jackpot to date. Bryan Buck, 48, had been watching the jackpot climb for several days. He decided to purchase a ticket the night before he won, but his lucky win came on Oct. 22.
"I even have the ticket from the night before when it was $455,000."
Buck, who used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers, ended up with a $614,509 prize.
"I had it (ticket) in my pocket for a week," he recalled.
The first-time Lottery winner found out he had won after scanning the ticket at QuikTrip, 8733 63rd St. in Raytown, but he "waited a few weeks" before claiming the prize at the Independence Lottery office.
"I was in shock," he said.
When asked about plans for the windfall, he noted that he would "save it for retirement."
Show Me Cash
offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing. Buck was the 57th Show Me Cash jackpot winner since the game began on Sept. 8, 2008. The winning numbers from the Oct. 22 drawing were: 3, 8, 21, 29 and 32. Since Show Me Cash began, more than $8.2 million has been awarded to players.
