Jill Garrett didn’t see her winning numbers on the monitor at Donties, a “little bar” at 11 W. Allen St. in Wentzville, but that didn’t stop the Wentzville woman from winning a $51,449 prize on the Missouri Lottery’s Lucky Dough Numbers game.
“I got busy and didn’t catch the numbers on the screen,” Garrett said, noting that she later scanned her ticket at Donties’ Check-A-Ticket machine to see how she fared for her particular drawing on Oct. 27.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she added, explaining her initial reaction to winning $51,449 from a $2 ticket purchase.
Garrett, 32, claimed her prize the same day as her win at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office, admitting she has “no idea yet” what she will do with her unexpected prize money.
To play Lucky Dough, players simply select one number (of the five numbers listed) in each of the eight squares featured on the playslip. Winning is based on matching numbers in each individual square to produce one or more “lines” – vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The more lines you match, the more you win. Numbers are chosen in computerized random Lucky Dough drawings held every five minutes.
