A Stewartsville woman is $50,000 richer after uncovering the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Mary Pickett purchased the winning ticket at Landes Oil Inc., 103 Hill St. in Stewartsville.
"Crossword," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on July 18. There are six top prizes and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $3 to $5,000 remaining in play.
The Missouri Lottery generates nearly $1 billion a year in sales and contributes more than $265 million annually to Missouri public education programs, including the A+ Scholarship Program, the Virtual Schools program, Special Education Excess Costs, the Vocational Rehabilitation Program and Future Minority Teacher Scholarships.
