Missouri Lottery Receives Accounting Award

For the ninth consecutive year, the Missouri Lottery’s accounting section has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

"We are pleased to receive this recognition," said Larry Jansen, executive director for the Missouri Lottery.  "Our chief financial officer, Michael Lauf, and the accounting staff of Melissa Wadley and Michelle Mealy make sure that our financial reporting meets the highest standards.  We want to make sure that we provide our stakeholders with the highest degree of transparency into our operations."

The GFOA certificate of achievement award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.  The Lottery’s comprehensive annual financial report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA program.

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
