St. Peters Woman Uncovers 'Red Hot' $25,000 Prize

Jennifer Price uncovered a “red hot” prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket she purchased at Fastlane, 994 Knaust Road in St. Peters.  The “Red Hot Cherries” ticket Price bought for $2 revealed the game’s top prize of $25,000.

The St. Peter’s woman said she knew instantly that she held a winning ticket, though she didn’t realize just how much it was worth.

“I scratched the first line and was super excited about seeing $2,500,” she said.

With her husband nearby, each line she scratched provided a sense that she might be holding an even bigger winner.

“My husband said, ‘That’s a 10, that’s a 10, that’s a whole card,” she laughed, referring to the game’s possibility of winning up to 10 times on a single ticket.  “Then we fought over who would scratch the rest of the card.”

According to Price, 38, the prize money has already been earmarked for a few specific causes.

“We’re going to pay off some bills and replace my son’s retainer that went down the garbage disposal,” she said.   “Some of it may also go toward a vacation - the honeymoon we never had.”

“Red Hot Cherries” is a $2 game that officially began Feb. 28.  Information regarding remaining prizes for all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games can be found at Molottery.com.
