Routine Day Turns into $100,000 Pay Day for Washington Couple

Michael Muir has a routine that includes purchasing Missouri Lottery tickets at the same retail location a few times each week.  His regular Wednesday stop at Krakow Store, 3052 Highway A in Washington, provided the Washington man and his wife, Lisa, with a $100,000 top prize on a “Monte Carlo” Scratchers ticket.

Muir, 39, who said he also enjoys entering non-winning tickets into “second-chance drawings” held by the Lottery, doesn’t have a particular favorite when it comes to his Scratchers purchases.

“I definitely mix it up,” he said.

As to what struck him about the “Monte Carlo” ticket on the day of his win, Muir simply felt the timing was right for that game.

“I played it in the past and didn’t win anything,” he started.  “So I bought three this time.  The first two were duds, but the third one was a winner!”

The timing of his win was also a lucky coincidence.

“This saved our house,” he said of the couple’s plan to pay off their second mortgage.

Monte Carlo” is a $5 game that officially began June 13.  Details about remaining prizes for “Monte Carlo” and all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games can be found at Molottery.com.
