Jefferson City Insurance Agent Claims $10,000 Prize

Story Photo audio icon An insurance agent from Jefferson City filed a claim form of his own at Missouri Lottery headquarters on Sept. 3.  Scott Murdick, 56, won $10,000 on a "4 Million Dollar Cash Bonanza" Scratchers ticket that he purchased at Casey’s General Store, 2407 N. Bluff St. in Fulton, the previous evening.

The first time Lottery winner said he remained calm after realizing he had won $10,000 while still in the store.

"I folded it (ticket) up, put it in my pocket and left," he began.  "I thanked her (clerk), and told her I’m going to come back and give her a little money."

Next on the agenda was sharing the good news with his wife, who wasn’t surprised by the win.
According to Murdick, he tends to be the "lucky one" in the family.

Plans for the windfall include purchasing a water softener and paying bills.

"4 Million Dollar Cash Bonanza," a $20 Scratchers game with a top prize of $4 million, officially began on Jan. 26.
