Terry Calvin recently added the Pick 4 game to his Missouri Lottery playlist, a move that led the Rocheport man to Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City on July 21 to claim a $3,250 prize.
“The funny part of that story is, I was playing Pick 3 before that, and I was winning like crazy,” he began. “But then I hadn’t won in a year,” he said, explaining his decision to pick up Pick 4 as well.
Though he sometimes chooses his own numbers, Calvin, 55, used Quick Pick to allow the computer to randomly select his numbers for the July 20 midday drawing. Those numbers were: 0, 5, 7 and 5.
“I guess I’ll keep playing another year,” he said.
Missouri Lottery Pick 4 players can win from $30 to $6,000 on a $1 play by matching a wide variety of numbers and combinations. Drawings are held at 12:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. daily.
The Missouri Lottery generates nearly $1 billion a year in sales and contributes more than $259 million annually to Missouri public education programs, including the A+ Scholarship Program, the Virtual Schools program, Special Education Excess Costs and the Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
