Imperial Man "Jumps for Joy" with $30,000 Lottery Prize
An Imperial man had a feeling about a certain Missouri Lottery ticket on June 13. According to Harvey Massey, he thought the "Nifty $50’s" Scratchers ticket "might bring me some luck." His inclination paid off in a big way.
Massey, 45, purchased the winning ticket at Circle K, 1060 Main St. in Imperial, and found out he won $30,000 minutes later at his home.
"When I fist scratched off the initial $3,000, I thought I was seeing things," revealed Massey, a first-time Lottery winner.
According to Massey, he showed the ticket to two of his three sons, because he couldn’t believe he had won. After receiving confirmation from his children, Massey and company "jumped up and down for joy."
When asked about plans for the prize money, Massey said he planned to buy a truck for himself and a car for his youngest son.
"This money will help tremendously," added Massey, who was recently laid-off from a mid-Missouri factory.
In terms of advice for fellow Lottery players, Massey said persistence is key. "Keep going. That’s all I’ve been doing!"
a $2 game with a top prize of $30,000, officially began on June 13. To date, the game has seven top prizes, as well as thousands of $2 to $3,000 prizes remaining in play.
