BAR MANAGER POURS UP $25,000 TAX PAID

A bar manager for a St. Louis country club started the new millennium off $25,000 tax paid* richer after he matched all five numbers in the Dec. 30 SHOW ME 5 drawing. Gary Meyer (63123**), 39, said he still isn’t entirely sure what he will do with his windfall, but he thinks he will invest "a lot of it." Meyer purchased his winning ticket at Schnucks Market, 10070 Gravois in St. Louis. He let the computer pick the winning combination: 1, 2, 20, 23 and 27. To date, 815 SHOW ME 5 tickets worth $25,000 cash have been sold since the game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund. ** Winner’s zip code to assist media in determining coverage area
