Jackson Inspector Wins $27,777 Scratchers Prize

Story Photo audio icon A state inspector of elevators and amusement rides went looking for some amusement of his own and ended up winning big.  Danny Daniels, 57, bought several Scratchers tickets at Jackson BP, 1831 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson, on June 19.  He scratched the tickets at the store and won $50, which he then used to buy a couple of "Spicy 7’s" Scratchers tickets.  One of those tickets revealed the top prize of $27,777.
"I showed it to all the people in the store and the people at the gas pumps," recalled Daniels.  "Two or three people gave me hugs."
When asked what made him purchase that particular game, Daniels responded, "I don’t really know.  I just happened to buy that ticket."
Daniel said plans for the money include paying bills and buying a used car.  The single father of four indicated that the win was timely because he needed to replace his car.
"Spicy 7’s" is a $2 game that officially began on May 2.  The game features a top prize of $27,777 and has several remaining.
