Jackson Contractor Has Stepdaughter to Thank for $100,000 Prize

A Jackson man is $100,000 richer after revealing the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "10X the Money" Scratchers ticket on May 22. Ron Hecht, 54, purchased the winning ticket from Amerimart, 5410 U.S. Highway 61 in Jackson.
According to Hecht, a contractor and father of four, he took some very important advice before deciding which ticket to purchase. Hecht had been playing another $5 Scratchers game, but his stepdaughter suggested that he try "10X the Money."
"I said, ’That’s not what I’ve been playing, but I will take it,’" he began. "I took it, and there it was. It was a winner."
The first-time Lottery winner noted that his stepdaughter is "thinking of course that she should’ve bought that ticket."
"If it wouldn’t have been for her, I probably wouldn’t have bought that type of ticket," he revealed. "I would’ve bought another $5 scratch off, and not been a winner."
To show his gratitude, Hecht plans to pay off his stepdaughter’s vehicle with a portion of the prize money.
"
10X the Money," a $5 game with a top prize of $100,000, officially began on May 2.
