A Granby man is celebrating a $155,788 Missouri Lottery prize after matching all five numbers in the May 26 Show Me Cash drawing. P.W. Anderson, 46, purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, Highway 59 and Mill Street in Anderson, and claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Springfield regional office on May 27.
Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot that starts at $50,000 and increases by at least $5,000 at each daily drawing. Players select a set of five numbers between 1 and 39 or use the Quick Pick feature to allow the computer to randomly choose the numbers for them. Anderson used Quick Pick to select his winning numbers: 2, 4, 8, 28 and 31. His ticket was the 38th Show Me Cash jackpot-winning ticket since the game began on Sept. 8, 2008.
The Missouri Lottery generates nearly $1 billion a year in sales and contributes more than $265 million annually to Missouri public education programs, including the A+ Scholarship Program, the Virtual Schools program, Special Education Excess Costs, the Vocational Rehabilitation Program and Future Minority Teacher Scholarships. In fiscal year 2008, the Missouri Lottery ranked sixth in percentage increase in sales among the 42 United States lotteries.
