ARKANSAS MAN WINS TRIP AROUND THE WORLD; 50 OTHERS WIN COMPUTER, NET CONNECTION
John Immen of Bella Vista, Ark., will soon be deciding if he will take the 24-day trip for two around the world or $25,000 cash after his name was drawn Wednesday as the grand-prize winner in the Missouri Lottery’s "Millennium World Traveler Promotion."
In addition to the grand prize, 50 other names were drawn from the more than 42,000 entries submitted to win a new Pony computer system, complete with a printer and two years of unlimited Internet service. Those winners will be notified of their prize by letter during the next two weeks. (See attached list of 50 winners.)
The 24-day trip package for two, worth more than $40,000, includes airfare, accommodations, tours, transfers and some meals during stops in cities like Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Rome, Paris and London.
If Immen chooses not to take the trip package, he will receive $25,000 cash.
The Missouri Lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state taxes based on the value of either prize chosen.
Players entered the promotion using an entry form produced with the purchase of a $3 Daily Game Sampler ticket between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31. A Daily Game Sampler combination play consists of a $1 SHOW ME 5 play, a $1 Pick 3 play and a $1 Pick 4 play.
Immen purchased the ticket that produced his winning entry at Hilltop Tobacco Store in Pineville.
The Sampler play was introduced to Missouri Lottery players during this promotion, and it is now offered regularly as a convenient way to play all of the Lottery’s daily games in one transaction.
