Missouri Pick 3 Players Win With Triple 8s

Story Photo Missouri Lottery Pick 3 players got lucky and "broke the lottery bank" when the combination 8-8-8 was drawn in the April 28 evening drawing – paying out 450 percent in prizes.  A total of 1,436 winning tickets were sold.  The total payout for the drawing was $424,320, and sales for the drawing were $94,407.

"Pick 3 players love playing triples, and 8-8-8 is always in the top five number combinations played," said Scott White, on-line product manager for the Missouri Lottery.  "After triple numbers, the most popular combinations are 1-2-3 and 3-6-9."

White said an average daily payout for Pick 3 is approximately $107,850, and yesterday’s payout was $424,320.

Last night is the ninth time since the Pick 3 game began in February 1987 that the combination 8-8-8 has been drawn.  The last time that combination was drawn was during the midday drawing on Oct. 22, 2007.

Pick 3 drawings are held each day at 12:57 p.m. and 6:57 p.m.  For more information about Pick 3, visit the Lottery’s Web site at molottery.com.
