St. Louis Family Claims $1.1 Million Lotto Prize

A St. Louis family has stepped forward to claim the April 8 $1.1 million Lotto jackpot. Jude Naes, 76, purchased the winning ticket at Shop ’n Save, 1032 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis. Naes used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers: 2, 15, 22, 25, 26 and 30. He said he found out he won after checking the numbers a week following the drawing.
Naes said that he has chosen the lump-sum option of $550,000 and will split the jackpot evenly with his wife, Dolly, and their three children: Jude Jr., Susan and Mary. Each will receive a check worth $110,000 before taxes. The retail location, Shop ’n Save, will receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket equal to 1 percent of the advertised jackpot - $11,000.
Lotto is a numbers game that features jackpots starting at $1 million. Players choose six out of 44 numbers and receive two plays for $1. Since the game began in 1986, 189 Lotto jackpots have been awarded.
