EL DORADO SPRINGS MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

A retired El Dorado Springs man turned $1 into $25,000 tax paid* after he matched all five SHOW ME 5 numbers drawn on Dec. 3. Harold Roby, 81, said he might use the winnings to buy another car or some new carpet for his home. Roby purchased his winning ticket at Jump Stop, 115 E. Highway 54 in El Dorado Springs. He let the computer pick the lucky numbers. They were: 5, 9, 15, 18 and 28. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
