Fulton Woman Uncovers '$25,000 Bankroll'

Jacquelyn “Jacque” Davis couldn’t wait to call her husband at work on the afternoon of April 21 to tell him she had “earned my income for the year” in the form of a $25,000 win on a Missouri Lottery “$25,000 Bankroll” Scratchers ticket.

“I was standing along (Highway) 54 pouring concrete,” her husband Kevin relayed about the timing of her call.  It was over an hour before he was able to get away and accompany his wife to Jefferson City to claim the game’s top prize.

In the meantime, Jacque, 45, quickly spread the word to other family members.  She called her mother, who didn’t believe her until she stopped by and showed her the actual ticket.  Similarly, when she texted her youngest daughter with news of her win, she received a text back saying it “is probably a fake.”

She was a little nervous, but felt good about her win.

“I sat there flabbergasted,” she shared.  She had already taken her ticket back inside the store and hopefully told the clerks, “Tell me this is real.”

They scanned her ticket and “started jumping up and down and congratulating me.”  One even hugged the new Lottery winner.

Davis purchased her ticket at L&D Smoke Shop II, 932 Business Highway 54 S. in Fulton.

With three teenagers at home, the couple was able to come up with a plan for using their newfound riches without much problem.

“We’re going to pay off some bills, invest some in cattle and let the kids do a little shopping.”

“$25,000 Bankroll” is a $2 game that officially began on March 28.
