Knox City Man Finds Luck with Lottery Game

Story Photo A Knox City man "couldn’t believe it" when he realized he was holding a winning Missouri Lottery "Luck O’ The Irish" Scratchers ticket worth $20,000.  Dennis Boltz, a first-time Lottery winner, purchased the winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 301 State St. in La Belle, on April 3.

According to Boltz, 53, he scratched the winning ticket while sitting in his car with his sister.

"I thought it was a mistake," he revealed when asked about his thoughts on the win.

Boltz and his sister were both "all nerves" in the car the day of the win.

"I didn’t think what I was seeing was real," he began.  "I’m glad I was sitting down!"

Boltz, who plans to "pay bills" with his windfall, has some advice for fellow Lottery players.

"I’d tell other Lottery players who haven’t won before to sit down when they scratch their tickets," Boltz shared.

"Luck O’ The Irish," a $2 game with a top prize of $20,000, officially began on Jan. 31.  The game offers more than $2 million in prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000.
